The ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ project by Embassy-Taurus TechZone (Taurus Investment Holdings), currently under construction, within the Phase-III campus is a significant complement to the larger ongoing sustained development of Technopark. ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ is envisioned as a key element of the Technopark Phase-III campus expansion, aiming to create a world class workspace for IT within the Technopark ecosystem.
‘DownTown Trivandrum’, with a projected investment of INR 1800 crore across two phases encompassing 60 lakh square feet of IT SEZ and IT non-SEZ built up space, is designed to evolve into an energetic urban hub for Technopark.
This grand project will feature three towers, providing a total of 38 lakh square feet of IT built-up space and 22 lakh square feet of non-IT space. The non-IT spaces will host retail outlets, entertainment facilities, and food & beverage establishments elevating the overall ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ experience for both residents and visitors.
The project also features the construction of a 175-key business hotel and 300 service apartments by Asset Homes to further enrich ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ as a quality-of-life hub. The IT office spaces of ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ project will be collectively named as the ‘Embassy-Taurus World Technology Centre’, offering tailored plug-and-play for start-ups and small businesses.
Upon completion, the Embassy-Taurus DownTown Trivandrum project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, with projections indicating approximately 30,000 direct jobs and 90,000 indirect jobs.
‘Niagara’, one of the IT business buildings within the Embassy-Taurus ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ project, having a built-up space of 15 lakh square feet, was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan on January 10, 2024. ‘Niagara’, an IGBC LEED Certified building is the first SEZ venture of the ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ project. It is noteworthy that 85 percent of the 11 floor Niagara office space has already been leased, marking a promising start for the Embassy-Taurus ‘DownTown Trivandrum’ Project
