1) Technopark and Taurus Investment Holdings Signs Agreement to set up Taurus Downtown (Embassy Taurus World Technology Centre) in Technopark, Trivandrum.

Trivandrum, March 14, 2018 – Technopark today signed the Agreement with Taurus Investment Holdings (TIH) to set up the much awaited Taurus Downtown. The tripartite agreement to lease 12.12 acres earmarked for  office in Technopark, Trivandrum was signed by Hrishikesh Nair, CEO, Technopark  and Ajay Prasad, Country MD, TIH; Jitu Virwani, CMD, Embassy Group; at a function held in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Shri. M Sivasankar IAS, Secretary Electronics & IT; and Erik Rijnbout, Global President, Taurus India Holdings. Taurus Downtown is being set up by a joint venture between TIH and Embassy Property Development Holdings.

Taurus Downtown is envisaged to create a world-class business infrastructure in Technopark.  Projected with a total investment of Rs 1500 crore in two phases, Taurus Downtown involves development of a city center for Technopark with 50 lakh sq.ft of IT SEZ and non-SEZ space. The project will include 18,00,000 sq.ft of world-class office space in three towers, and a 700,000 sq.ft space that would cater to retail space, entertainment areas and F&B outlets. The project also includes a 175 key Business Hotel to be operated by Hilton. The office space to be branded as Embassy Taurus World Technology Centre, will also have plug-and-play facilities for startups and small businesses. On completion, Taurus Downtown is expected to generate 35000 direct employment and about 75000 indirect employment.

Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan said “Embassy Taurus World Technology Centre that’s being set up in Technopark Trivandrum will impact Kerala’s IT scene like never before. We feel this project will facilitate creation of multiple employment opportunities and help the state to leapfrog to the status of top tier II destination in India.”

“Taurus Downtown will give a prestigious facelift to Technopark and Trivandrum as a whole.  We shall extend all support required by TIH to ensure effective execution and timely completion of this project.” Said Mr Sivasankar IAS, Secretary Electronics & IT.

“Once the entire project is completed and operational, this will give a huge boost to Trivandrum city and Technopark specifically by attracting global giants to set up operations here at the same time provide huge employment opportunities to IT professionals.” Said Hrishikesh Nair, CEO Technopark.

The land filling activities will begin soon and the construction will commence as soon as the SEZ co-developer status and Single window are approved. Bengaluru-based International construction management firm, Synergy Property Development will manage the development of the project.

1) Nissan Digital India LLP- Nissan Digital Hub @ Technocity
 
On June 29, 2018 – Technopark has signed an MoU with Nissan Motor Corporation with the support of State Government for allotting space & land to Japanese automotive major to set up its digital innovation hub in Technocity. The digital hub will be a research and development facility that will be shared by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, a Franco-Japanese strategic partnership. Nissan’s digital hub will function as the nerve centre of the company’s research in electric and automated vehicles. Signed the MoU for 30 acres of land in the first phase and another 40 acres in the second phase. This is the fifth digital hub of Nissan coming up in Trivandrum after Yokohama in Japan, China, Paris and Nashville in US.

Nissan chose Kerala to set up its digital innovation hub owing to multiple factors like - talent pool in IT and engineering; airport connectivity; cost effectiveness; quality of life, social
amenities; lack of traffic problems; and based on the positive feedback from the successful IT companies at Technopark. The company has started its operations in 25,000 sq.ft space (Feb 2019) in Yamuna building in the Technopark Phase III campus as well as other Co-Developer space (Oct 2018).

Nissan’s digital innovation hub will host a team of engineers & scientists, working to create innovations in automated and electronic vehicles space. The company will be initiating Research & Development work in Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive analytics, Machine learning and other Digital technologies. On setting up operations the company is expected to generate 3000
direct and multi times indirect employment opportunities. This campus will be named as ‘Nissan Knowledge City’.
 
2) Brigade Group signs MOU with Technopark, Government of Kerala for developing World Trade Center Thiruvananthapuram.

Thiruvananthapuram, February 27, 2019:-  Brigade Group,  one of India’s leading developer announced the signing of an MOU with Technopark, Government of Kerala, for developing an iconic World Trade Center, Thiruvananthapuram  (WTC) at Technocity, a 300 acre IT campus. WTC Thiruvananthapuram is being set up on a 13 acre site at Technocity. The iconic building is proposed to be part of a larger mixed use development, with allied facilities including hotel, serviced apartments, hostel (men & Women) for working professionals and neighbourhood retail and entertainment. The total development will be 2.5 million sq.ft. The project will generate employment for 15,000 people.

Brigade Group holds WTC licenses for all the major cities in South India viz. Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad. WTC Bengaluru and WTC Kochi are already operational, while WTC Chennai will be launched by the end of the year.

World Trade Centers, are licensed members of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), New York. There are over 300 members in nearly 100 countries. WTC Thiruvananthapuram will showcase to an international audience the strengths of the region and state in different economic sectors, such as IT/ITeS, Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, Bio Technology, Healthcare and others.

Kollam Technopark

Kollam Technopark, the first rural IT Park in Kerala will be a satellite park of Technopark, is fast coming up at a stunning locale in Kollam, against a magical backdrop of the spectacular Ashtamudi Lake and its immense expanse of pristine waters. Phase I of the Kollam Technopark building is already complete and ready for occupation. It features a built up space of 1 lakh sq.ft where companies have already commenced functioning. On completion, the Kollam park will have a direct employment potential of about 1000 IT professionals. Apart from the main building, co-developers  will be offered on lease developed plots of diverse sizes as well.

The present road from Kottiyam to NH47 is to be widened shortly by the The State Public Works Department, which should alleviate the traffic pressure on the Highway. Water transport to the park is to be made hassle free by the Inland water navigation department. Kollam, being a land flanked by water bodies, there is also a proposal for a boat jetty featuring traditional architecture that has been approved.
