Job Description
- The purpose of an IT Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer is to design, implement, and maintain the technical infrastructure and cloud-based systems of an organisation, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of its information technology.
- This includes tasks such as installing and configuring hardware and software, monitoring network performance, providing technical support, and ensuring data security and backup.
- The goal is to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the organisation's technology systems and cloud infrastructure to support business operations and goals.
- Infra Engineer ongoing
1. Good AWS Cloud experience (including AWS Terraform and Infrastructure as code)
2. Strong MS Server including Active Directory, DNS, CA experience
3. Good experience setting up 'Cloud, Server and Log' Monitoring
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain the technical infrastructure and cloud-based systems of the organisation.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the organisation's technology systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and proactively address issues to maintain high levels of uptime and performance.
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, resolving technical issues and providing training as necessary.
- Ensure data security and backup, including the implementation of disaster recovery plans.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements to the IT infrastructure and cloud systems.
- Collaborate with other IT and business teams to align technology solutions with business goals and objectives.
- Plan and manage budget for technology infrastructure and cloud-based systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- The overall objective is to support the business operations and goals by ensuring the availability, reliability and security of the technology infrastructure and cloud-based systems.
Preferred skills
Primary Skills
- 5+ years commercial IT Infrastructure and cloud experience
- AWS Knowledge: Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and experience working with AWS infrastructure and services.
- Experience coding or automating IT Operation tasks
- AWS or CCNA Certified is advantageous
- Google or MCSE Certified is advantageous
- Strong communication and people management skills
Secondary Skills
- Technical Competence: Ability to analyze complex technical issues and design solutions that meet the needs of the business.
- Cloud Computing: Proficiency in cloud computing technologies, with a strong focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Infrastructure Design: Ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure solutions.
- Automation and Scripting: Experience with automation and scripting tools, such as Python, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Networking: Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewall configurations, and network security.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, security teams, and business stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: A commitment to continuous learning and keeping up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
