Manual Test Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and execute detailed manual test cases based on business and functional requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and acceptance testing.
• Document test plans, test scenarios, test results, and defect reports accurately.
• Prepare and maintain traceability matrices, test summary reports, and release readiness documents.
• Conduct test cycles for front-end (React) and back-end (Java/J2EE, Node.js) components.
• Perform API testing manually using tools like Postman.
• Validate role-based access controls and system integration points.
• Identify, document, and report bugs in issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla), and follow up until closure.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure thorough testing coverage.
• Participate in requirement and design review meetings to ensure testability.
• Ensure proper version control and storage of all test documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of proven experience in manual software testing.
• Solid understanding of software development and QA methodologies (SDLC/STLC).
• Proficient in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation and test cases.
• Strong experience in using defect tracking and test management tools.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in testing web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
