Brief Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Trainee - Research to join our expanding team. As a fresher in this role, you will assist in the design and development of our next-generation robots. You will be involved in various stages of the design lifecycle, from concept through to production, supporting the creation of functional, reliable, and cost-effective robotic solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world R&D environment and gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge robotics technology. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Assist the team with experimental setups, data collection, and testing in various robotics research projects.  
  • Utilize your strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and best practices to design and develop robotic components and mechanisms. 
  • Conduct literature reviews on emerging technologies and research topics in robotics to help inform the team’s approach and keep projects at the cutting edge.  
  • Help design and execute experiments for testing robotic systems, including selecting appropriate sensors and data acquisition methods.  
  • Participate in the development and testing of prototypes, identifying and resolving design issues. 
  • Prepare and maintain document research findings, experimental setups, and results in detail to support future reference and knowledge sharing within the R&D team. 
  • Assist in creating technical reports and presentations for internal team reviews or external stakeholders, communicating complex ideas clearly. 
  • Ensure all research activities are documented in line with company and industry standards, including any safety or compliance protocols. 
  • Actively seek out opportunities to learn new tools, software, or methods that can enhance research and development efforts. 
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in mechanical design and robotics technologies 

Preferred Skills

Key Skills: 
  • Solid understanding of forward and inverse kinematics, as well as the dynamics of robotic arms and manipulators.  
  • Strong grasp of mechanical engineering basics, including mechanisms, linkages, joint design, and degrees of freedom in robotics.  
  • Knowledge of fundamental control theories (PID control, feedback loops) for precision control of robotic movements.  
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Solid Edge 
  • Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ROS, Gazebo) for modeling and testing robotic systems before physical prototyping. 
  • Basic understanding of microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) for simple control tasks and sensor integration in robotic systems.  
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews to stay updated on advances in robotics and synthesize information to support new research projects. 
  • Knowledge of experimental methods, including designing and executing tests to validate design choices or test new robotic functionalities. 
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support research findings and validate robotic models and prototypes. 
  • Enthusiasm for exploring new ideas, testing novel approaches, and contributing to brainstorming sessions to advance robotic technology. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
Basic qualification : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, 
Product Design, Bachelor of design, or a related field.
