Solution Architect - Microsoft Business Intelligence

Brief description :



  • Implement solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence tool suite
  • Develop and maintain advanced database systems including data warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial and operational analysis and/or reporting
  • Develop highly performant, reliable and scalable automated solutions to support large volumes of data coming from disparate systems/sources of multiple clients
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical details to business and management personnel
  • Perform data analysis that will support and enhance Information Management systems
  • Author, oversee and gain approval of design documents for projects assigned
  • Develop reports, dashboards & scorecards, data exploration and visual analytics using existing and emerging tools and technologies.
  • Follow best practice methodologies for database development and design
  • Analysis, architecture, design, and development of ETL, data warehouse and business intelligence systems
  • Work independently or as part of a team to design and develop solutions
  • Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members to successfully overcome technological challenges
  • Leading and demonstrated emerging technologies and concepts to teams

Preferred skills




  • Expert knowledge of Data Management, Business Intelligence and Analytics concepts including:
    • Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), Data Quality and Profiling
    • Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Marts, Data Stores, and Cubes
    • Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Metadata Management
    • Data Visualization, Dashboard, Reporting, Self Service Business Intelligence (BI), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and Scorecards
    • Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics
    • Pattern matching and Machine Learning
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence stack including:
    • SQL Server, Transact SQL (tSQL)
    • Visual Studio (VS), Team Foundation Server (TFS)
    • SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and Analysis Services (SSAS)
    • Master Data Services (MDS) and Data Quality Services (DQS)
    • Power BI and Excel
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience
  • Proven experience with data warehousing and data modeling, specifically building/understanding OLTP & OLAP models
  • Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Certifications is highly preferred
  • Passionate about learning new technologies
  • Ability to learn new concepts and software quickly
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to solve business problems
  • Familiarity with database-centric applications, BI tools like Tableau and Spotfire
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both a technical and non-technical manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with various industry verticals (e.g., insurance, financial services, technology)
  • Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills
