Junior Engineer - IT Services

Alamy is looking for a flexible and highly motivated engineer to join the IT Service Delivery department which is currently in an expansion phase. The successful candidate will join a team responsible for developing and supporting Alamy’s customer and employee services currently spanning 8 physical sites, an increasing number of remote locations and running on over 240 physical and virtual servers running a variety of operating systems.  The team uses methods based on the ITIL framework to support this large infrastructure.

The selected candidate’s responsibilities, as a member of the IT Service Delivery team, will include

  • Installing, configuring and managing physical and virtual servers
  • Installing operating systems and applications on servers,  desktops and laptops
  • Management of Network and Storage devices
  • Management of LAN, WAN and internet links for high availability 
  • Management of Active Directory, Exchange and application servers
  • Management of Alamy’s network monitoring and alerting systems
  • Handling incidents and requests through ticketing tools and support the Service Desk
  • Provide support to the  Data centres and offices in US, UK and India

Preferred skills

  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Computer Science with 1+ years experience in a similar role
  • MCSE / MCITP certification
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good spoken and written communication skills

Hands on experience in

  • Remote Infrastructure Management Services
  • WINTEL platform, virtualization, Active Directory, group polices, resource kit tools, messaging concepts, software deployments methods
  • Technical customer support through voice and email
  • Knowledge with Monitoring, ticketing tools, TCP/IP networking and VPN
  • Awareness of System security including NTFS, ISA, TMG ,  internet, anti-virus, anti-spam
  • Knowledge  with backup/ restoration
  • Exposure to the ITIL Framework and IT Service Management is preferred
  • Awareness of high availability technologies: RAID, load balancing, clustering
