Senior IT Support Engineer - Server

Brief description :

  • Install, Maintain and upgrade server hardware and OS, server based applications, Virtual server infrastructure, Database servers, Mail servers, Storage devices.
  • Resolving all server related problems with appropriate documentation and control.
  • User management – Creation and deletion of users, groups
  • Install software, patches, updates and service packs
  • Security management – Configuring Account policy, Access rights, Domain policies and password controls
  • Monitor the utilization of CPU, disk, memory and I/O parameters (IT 360)
  • Manage and tune system resources to ensure the optimal mix of storage space, memory, and processing power to meet system requirements and department needs.
  • Schedule and optimize the services running on the server
  • Ensure all critical services are running on the server
  • Load latest anti-virus/firewall updates on the server
  • Storage and Backup data and Perform regular Backup and Restore procedures as per the laid procedures.
  • File and Print server management
  • Escalating unresolved problems to the principal / hardware vendor for ensuring resolution.
  • Develop & maintain thorough and updated documentation of all activities related to servers
  • Fault and Configuration Management of LAN/WAN Devices such as routers, switches, VPN, etc. (Detection, isolation and diagnosis of network faults and get them resolved)
  • Configuration Management of the networking equipment in coordination with Client IT Team & related vendors.
  • Incident Management - Detection, isolation, diagnosis and resolution of network & security elements incidents including coordination with Vendor (Service Provider) and get them resolved as per the SLA with the service provider. Follow up with respective vendor as per the SLA for resolution and call closure.

Preferred skills

Degree in computer Science, BCA, BSc with computer science/ Diploma in computer Engineering.

Extensive hands on experience in server administration,Min 4 - 7 years in IT Support.
