E-learning Instructional Designer
Bringing Solutions That Make Business Better Aten India as an eLearning Course Developer and be part of a creative, forward-thinking team. As the eLearning Course Developer, you will act as an instructional design subject matter expert (SME), providing recommendations on self-paced curriculum design and deployment strategies. You will manage projects, build relationships, and use both your position-specific subject matter skills as well as your refined ability to understand all relevant hardware and software. You will also design and develop multimedia-based layouts, graphics, animation, video, sound, and/or content for use in presentations, video productions, multimedia programs, online tutorials, websites, and other electronic media, working with the project team to review and recommenddesign options, functionality, and programming needs. Additionally, you will: • Work with SMEs to determine the learning objectives and content required for the courses • Determine the content format that best satisfies the learning objectives (e.g., conventional eLearning formats, job aids, or labs/simulations) • Examine any existing product documentation and course content for inclusion into new courses, updating, revising, and editing the content as necessary • Evaluate current ILT courses, recommending areas to be converted into pre-requisite web-based training or self-paced courses • Demonstrate good judgment when solving problems, identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions • Research, evaluate, and recommend skill-assessment testing tools • Create skill assessments/evaluations for training objectives • Report statuses, risks, and issues on a regular basis • Prioritize tasks associated with multiple deliverables • Create and provide print-based training materials and other print documents using professional page layouts and graphic design software, editing and manipulating photos and performing technical duties in the production of web-based video and audio projects
What You’ll Need to be Successful: • 5 to 8 years of experience in e-learning course development • Bachelor's degree in instructional design or other related educational fields • Ability to create clear, concise, and accurate course material for complex technical subjects by integrating existing information with new material • Previous experience in training course development • Technical background in one or more of the following areas: web-based instructional development, web-based instructional delivery platforms (Camtasia, Adobe Suite, Brainshark, or other similar platforms), and technical assessment development • Good written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal communication and cross-functional relationship-building skills • Demonstrated experience as a project or team leader, with experience developing and managing project schedules on both an individual and team basis • Basic understanding of related technologies • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to apply course development standards, templates, and style sheets • Impressive skill set in multimedia development • Strong new perspectives and creative approaches to unstructured tasks and less-defined issues • Ability to work effectively with staff and high-level employees within and across functions and with external parties • Ability to independently operate and drive results; set priorities with limited supervision and provided direction, and demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others
