Anti tobaco campaign
June 08, 2010
Tobacco is the greatest monster of our time killing millions every year. "Justice K N Kurup Anti-Tobaco Foundation" has been striving its best to put an end to the tobacco epidemic through a strategic campaign to spread awareness among the population about the hazards of tobacco. Justice K Narayana Kurup today administered the pledge to the employes of TECHNOPARK here on Tuesday against the use of Tobacco.

.
To increase the awareness of people, such campaigns are mandatory said Mr Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark. However, even after months of a pioneering decision to ban smoking at public places in the country, smokers continue with their habit and more serious efforts are required to implement the law.It is impossible for the government alone to stop this without active participation of the public, Mr Mervin added.
According to statistics, in every ten seconds, some person dies of tobacco use in the world. If the trend continues, by 2025 a person will die every three seconds, it said.In India, half of all cancers in men and one fourth of all cancers in women are attributed directly to tobacco use. Officials of TECHNOPARK participated in the campaign.
Technocity project launched in Kerala
June 05, 2010
The Kerala Chief Minister, Mr V. S. Achuthanandan, on Friday launched the Technocity project, which is purported to be the State's biggest IT infrastructure project.
Technocity is being developed as an integrated township on 433 acres, and will encompass IT, ITeS infrastructure as well as residential, commercial and touristic structures in addition to public service and educational institutions.
A LAKH JOBS
The project is expected to directly provide at least a lakh IT, ITeS jobs, apart from an estimated four lakh indirect employment opportunities.
The city will also have focus on areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, high-end manufacturing and research and development. It would make available 10-15 million sq.ft of IT business space.
Technocity is being planned in such a manner that it would not strain the resources and infrastructure of Thiruvananthapuram city but will be on a par with the capital city in terms of developed infrastructure. It is being promoted by Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd (KSITIL) independent of the resources and infrastructure of the capital city.
Land acquisition for the project was completed earlier this year at a cost of Rs 340 crore and was funded by a consortium of banks headed by Central Bank of India
‘FASTEST GROWING'
“Kerala today is becoming one of the fastest growing IT destinations. The State is transforming itself through focused initiatives in IT infrastructure development, HR development and citizen e-enablement,” said Dr Ajay Kumar, Principal Secretary-IT.
The IT industry is expected to grow from $20 billion to $60 billion and the share of growth from tier-2 and tier-3 cities is expected to grow from 10 per cent to 80 per cent, according to projections by the National Association of Software and Service Companies.
Kerala will provide a major contribution to this growth, especially with the quality of life index, human resources and service-related industries, Dr Kumar said. “With Technocity coming up, we will be able to provide professionals a work environment that is at par with the best locations in the world, and also provide a satisfying work-life balance,” he added.
CAPITAL OUTLAY
The creation of the integrated facilities would entail a capital outlay of Rs 5,000-8000 crore spread over 5-8 years. This development has been planned in the public-private partnership (PPP) model in association with technically and financially competent private developers.
There would be multiple partnerships in association with developers of varying financial capabilities for various parcels of land within the 433-acre campus.
The entire project will be implemented through multiple special purpose vehicles in conjunction with leading developers. The first phase of the development is set to be completed within 3 years to enable commissioning by July 2012.

Flytxt sets new benchmark in mobile marketing; launches enhanced version of Neon
April 28, 2010
The game-changing version transforms
mobile marketing for operators, enabling marketers to
create and execute closed loop campaigns in minutes
New Delhi, 28th April, 2010: Flytxt, the technology leader
in mobile marketing, announces the launch of the next
major version of its mobile marketing platform, Neon. It
delivers a step change in marketing agility and
effectiveness, compared to existing marketing systems.
With Neon, mobile operators can run closed loop marketing
campaigns within minutes, from a single web desktop,
without the help of IT specialists.
The entire marketing loop, comprising of behavioural
analytics, segmentation, campaign execution, ROI tracking,
reward fulfilment and reward confirmation, is automated in
real time in a single integrated platform. Speaking about
the new version, Dr. Vinod Vasudevan, Group CEO, Flytxt
said: “We are pleased to bring this set of unparalleled
capabilities to our customers to increase subscriber value
through innovative marketing techniques”.
Thomas Schuster, Co-founder and Senior Vice President -
Product and Technology, Flytxt, adds: “With existing
marketing systems, it takes days or weeks to draw in
necessary subscriber intelligence, design, run and analyse
campaigns. They are too slow and unsuitable for the
real-time medium, mobile, and the dynamic and diverse
marketing environments of mobile operators. The latest
release of Neon addresses the above challenges and
shortens campaign cycles to the point where it is quicker
to test a campaign concept than to debate it in a
meeting.”
A major part of the new release is the centralised
inventory management, a new method that gives mobile
operators complete control and visibility over its
marketing inventory across channels. Neon automatically
manages and intelligently maximises the return of all
marketing impressions, and at the same time increases
customer satisfaction, as communication frequency limits
are automatically and centrally enforced.
“This version of Neon sets a new benchmark in mobile
marketing as it transforms marketing agility for operators
and allows scaling marketing processes across different
product teams, business partners and advertisers with a
single centralised technology”, Schuster added.
About Flytxt
Flytxt is the technology leader in mobile marketing. Neon,
the third generation mobile marketing platform from Flytxt
