HYSITRON Inc., opens it India R & D Centre in Technopark
HYSITRON Nanotechnology India Pvt Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of Hysitron Inc., the world’s leading provider of nanomechanical test instruments for the standard laboratory environment and has recently expanded its product portfolio to quantitative in-situ nanomechanical testers for transmission electron microscopes (TEMs), Scanning electron Microscopes (SEMs) and dual-beam focused ion beam (FIB)/SEMs. The company founded in 1992 is the pioneer of the scanning nanoindenter capable of scanning probe microscopy using the indentation tip as the imaging stylus. Hysitron located in Minneapolis, US has mostly funded its growth entirely from instrument sales and contract test services. The company’s core competencies include the skills necessary to design, model, develop, finish engineer, manufacture, market, sell and service advanced technologies comprised of automated instrument platforms, sensors, actuators, transducers, controllers, firmware/software, etc., and several members of the technical staff have considerable vaccum, including ultrahigh-vaccum, expertise. The research work is performed in-house and in the form of collaborations with the United States Dept of Energy’s (DOE) National Centre for Electron Microscopy (NCEM) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). Hysitron’s diverse customer base ranges from hard disk drive (HDD), Semiconductor, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), automotive, polymer, lubricant, combinational materials discovery, and biomedical device industres to Materials Science, Mechnical Engineering, Physcis, Chemistry, Medical and Dental Departments of Research Universities to Federal Laboratories including many of DOE laboratories.
The most modern India Research & Development Centre of Hysitron Inc., namely, Hysitron Nanotechnology India P Ltd was formally inaugurated by Mr Thomas J Wyrobek, President of the Company at Thejaswini building in the presence of many of the stalwarts from Nanotechnology Industry from India and abroad, visiting Trivandrum currently to attend an international workshop of Nanotechnology at Technopark. Mr Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark, welcomed the guests to Technopark and gave a brief background on the type of infrastructure and support provided by Technopark. Mr M Vasudevan, Senior Manager(BD), thanked Hysitron management for choosing Technopark as the base the high technology Research Centre for nanotechnology and offered all possible support to Hysitron.
