Oracle Development Centre Inaugurated in Technopark


 


 

ORACLE, the world’s second largest product company inaugurated its new development centre in Technopark, Trivandrum today.  The Centre was formally inaugurated by Mr P K Kunhalikutty, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, IT & Urban Affairs at the Leela Infopark Building in Technopark Campus.  Inaugurating the facility, Mr Kunhalikutty thanked Oracle for choosing Technopark, the finest technology park in the country and offered Government’s complete support for the project.

 



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The company has taken 36,000 sq. ft. space for the first phase development which will have a seating capacity of 500 professionals. Dr Shashi Tharoor, the Member of Parliament from Trivandrum, said that he was really happy to see Oracle setting up their new development centre in one of the finest locations in terms of its serene natural settings, high quality of life and availability of global standard IT infrastructure and abundant human resources, since he made the first sales pitch to ORACLE Headquarters along with Technopark through a video conferencing few months back for setting up a development centre in Trivandrum and thanked the ORACLE team for accepting his request.   He also narrated the story of one of high level vendor delegation from premium US Company visiting India informing the Technopark based Software Company that they have been shortlisted as sixth destination.  The delegation after all the traffic jams and other frustrations in other destinations like Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai, etc., landed in Trivandrum and seeing the beauty of the location and the infrastructure and support services offered, immediately placed Trivandrum as the number one destination since they will have to visit the location to look after their project very often and Trivandrum offers all the right environment for IT Industry.  Mr M A Vaheed, MLA welcomed Oracle to Technopark.  Mr Steve Miranda, Senior Vice President, Oracle HQ and Mr Joe Gumina, Vice President (Facilities),  Oracle HQ and Mr Murali Subramanian, Senior Vice President, India were present at  the occasion.  Air Cmde R Jayaraman, Vice President, Oracle, welcomed the gathering and Mr Jayanth Joseph, delivered vote of thanks.  Mr Venu Krishnan, Jt MD, Leela Group, Mr Reghu, President, CREDA, Mr Mervin Alexander, CEO, Mr M  Vasudevan, Senior Manager (BD), Technopark officials and CEOs of Technopark companies were present.
